Veterans Stand Down |
|
Hosted by the Yuba Sutter Veterans Stand Down Committee, this annual three day event is held each August at the Pavilion Arena area in River Front Park in Marysville, CA.

The term "stand down" comes from the Vietnam war where soldiers were given the opportunity to stand down from their stressful wartime duties in the field to get some hot food and a shower, maybe take care of some personal business or get medical treatment or other services that they couldn't get in the field.
The Yuba-Sutter Stand Down event offers the same opportunity to local veterans who may be experiencing difficult lifestyles and need a break or services normally not available to them. Free services available at the stand down include:
- Temporary shelter
- Hot food and free clothing
- Health screenings and services
- Employment and legal services
- Help with government benefits
- Referrals to other community programs and services
